Thistlethwaite Vineyards

Parker is a staple here at the winery. She happily greets guests as they enter the tasting room and will accompany everyone as they traverse to the barn...or anywhere on the property! She's a rescue dog, but she's the one who rescued us. Parker's presence creates a warm atmosphere and makes everyone feel welcome .

Duann is the wife of Jamie and partakes in the science that goes into the winemaking! By day, she works in the pharmaceutical field. By night, she can be found assisting the tasting room, overseeing the business, and hanging out with Parker around the property. Duann loves the four seasons that living on the farm has to offer.

Jamie's upbringing was also on the farm! Jamie takes care of the vineyard and handles all of the wine making from vine to wine. He's completed an internship in St. Louis at Sugarcreek Winery learning the fine art of wine making. He's the wine connoisseur and can be found in the barn, bottling wine and experimenting with new vintages.

Meet the Owners!

Rick was born and raised on the farm, now known as the vineyard! He handles the general maintenance of the property and tasting room. You can usually find him on a tractor, walking Parker, or charming guests in the tasting room!

In 1892 the 208 acre farm was bought by the Thistlethwaite family and has been handed down through the generations. The Vineyard's first acre was planted in 2000. We grow 10 varieties of french hybrid grapes on five acres of land. We grow all of our own grapes to get the juice for wine making so that we have complete control of the quality from the beginning of the process!

We opened our Tasting room, which is where the original stable was located, in 2008. The tasting room walls, floors, and bar are made from cherry wood. The Vine Room is surrounded by original, preserved Beech wood from the farm and the Cellar features barn wood along the walls.  In 2014, we remolded the original barn and transformed it into the wine cellar where we have all of our wine production take place.

We are proud to be Greene County's first winery!
